The 32nd session of the Alaska Legislature is set to begin on January 19, 2021. As part of continuous support for the Capital and the Legislature, the Alaska Committee has allocated a limited amount of funds to provide financial support as an incentive/subsidy to ensure that adequate housing is available for this session. COVID 19 has impacted the availability of housing stock that has traditionally been used by legislators, staff and seasonal visitors to the Capital.
To ensure adequate supply of housing between January and April of 2021, the Alaska Committee is asking for providers of blocks of housing with four (4) or more units, to submit proposals which will be evaluated based on the following desired attributes:
Applicants must comply with the following:
Proposal Details:
Proposers should submit the number of rooms that may be made available and the financial subsidy needed to ensure that the rooms will be available for the entirety of the scheduled 90-day legislative session. Proposers should also provide detail if and how rooms would continue to be available should the legislative session extend to 120 days. Grants are only available for blocks of rooms that would not be available without additional financial assistance.
The Alaska Committee reserves the right not to award any grants or financial assistance.
